New York State has medical insurance program serving uninsured children under age 19 in families whose household income exceeds Medicaid income eligibility. The insurance is provided free or at a low cost. Coverage includes well-child check-ups, immunizations, prescriptions, doctor’s visits, x-rays and lab work, outpatient mental health, inpatient hospital care, emergency medical care, and other services.
