A Message from the Board President
Dear Penfield Families,
We have recently received some questions regarding our plans for filling the Superintendent position. In response to those questions, I would like to share the following update with you, which I also shared at last night's Board meeting:
As part of tonight’s consent agenda, the Board of Education accepted Dr. Putnam’s resignation as of Aug. 31st. We would like to thank Dr. Putnam for his dedication and commitment to our students, families, faculty, and staff over the past 10 years as Superintendent. As a Board, we are grateful for your leadership and for always putting students first in your work. We wish you well in your new position at Monroe 2- Orleans BOCES.
In the two weeks since Dr. Putnam announced his resignation, the Board has consulted with Daniel White, District Superintendent for Monroe One BOCES, Amy Thomas, Executive Director of the Monroe County School Boards Association, and the school district’s attorney to determine our next steps in hiring a new Superintendent. Following those conversations, the Board opted to conduct an internal interview process and has been engaged in discussions with a potential candidate. We look forward to providing the community with an update on this process in the near future.
Dr. Emily Roberts, President
Penfield Board of Education
