Penfield CSD Appoints New Directors
The Penfield Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Naple as the new Director for Specialized Programming and Supports. In this role, she will oversee Special Education and Section 504 plans. As previously announced, Mr. Scott Drechsler will transition to the role of Director of Student Supports.
Ms. Naple comes to Penfield from the Rush-Henrietta School District, where she serves as the Coordinator of Special Education. She previously served as a Principal in the Fairport School District, as well as an Assistant Principal and Early Childhood Coordinator in the Greece Central School District. Mrs. Naple also taught in both the Rochester City and Victor school districts.
“I am thrilled to join the Penfield Central School District and be part of a community prioritizing equity and inclusion for all students,” Ms. Naple said. “I look forward to collaborating with the dedicated educators, community, and families to inspire students to reach their full potential,” she added.
Ms. Naple holds her administrative certification and master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Literacy Education from St. John Fisher College, and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education, also from St. John Fisher College.
She will join the district as of November 7th.
The District is also pleased to announce the appointment of Kumba Sankoh as the new Director of Culturally Responsive Curriculum and Student Supports. Ms. Sankoh comes to Penfield from the Rush-Henrietta School District where she serves as an English as a Second Language teacher. She also serves as the Black Indigenous People of Color Affinity Group organizer and facilitator for the Children’s Institute and as a Restorative Practices trainer and facilitator for Partners in Restorative Initiatives.
"I am genuinely excited to join the Penfield school district. This work is aligned with my passion for fostering inclusive learning environments,” Ms. Sankoh said. “I look forward to working with students, families, faculty, and staff to continue the work of co-creating an equitable curriculum for Penfield students," she added.
Ms. Sankoh holds her administrative certification from the University of Rochester, her master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from SUNY Buffalo, and her bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Spanish from Daemen College.
She will join the district as of November 12th.
