Penfield Earns School Safety Excellence Award
Penfield Central School District is among the more than 157 school districts and BOCES in New York State to receive the Utica National Insurance Group’s School Safety Excellence Award for the 2026. Penfield was honored at the Titanium with Honors level.
The award is presented annually and recognizes school districts’ safety efforts as they work to keep students, staff, and guests safe. Utica National formally honored Penfield alongside fellow awardees during its 44th School Safety Seminar, one of six seminars the company hosts across the state. The District received a commemorative certificate and $500 grant to support its ongoing school safety program.
The School Safety Excellence Award Program has three levels – titanium, platinum, and gold – in which schools can earn meritorious distinction by meeting specific criteria to enhance overall safety.
“Safety and health concerns continue to be a priority in our school districts,” said Mark Angelucci, Senior Vice President and Head of Utica National’s Specialty Lines. “Districts that go ‘above and beyond’ to provide a safe, healthy, and focused culture for learning are to be applauded and we’re pleased to count Penfield Central School District among them.”
