Penfield CSD Names New Communications Team

The Penfield Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Communications Team, following Board of Education approval at its Dec. 9 meeting.
Dr. Melissa Greco Lopes, APR has been named as the Director of Public Relations and Jaime Smith has been named as the Director of Digital Media.
Dr. Greco Lopes comes to Penfield from St. John Fisher University, where she has served as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for the past 10 years. Prior to that she served as a Social Media Manager for Dixon Schwabl and as a Press Officer for Student Life & Teaching at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Greco Lopes holds a doctorate in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University, a master’s degree in Communication and Media Technology from RIT, and bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Creative Writing from the University of Miami. She also holds her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.
Mr. Smith comes to Penfield from the Rochester City School District, where he has worked as a Senior Communications Assistant for the past three years. Prior to that, he served as a Digital Content Specialist, Operations Coordinator, and Publications Assistant at Monroe Community College. Mr. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Medaille University.
Dr. Greco Lopes will join the District as of Dec. 10, 2025, and Mr. Smith will join the District as of Dec. 29, 2025.
