Leadership Structure
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction oversees numerous areas within the Penfield Central School District. The department is divided into five sections:

  • Curriculum
  • Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services
  • Technology Services
  • Science, Technology, Business, Mathematics (STEM)
  • English, Social Studies, Reading, Libraries, ESL, LOTE (Humanities)

Curriculum
The Curriculum Office is overseen by an Assistant Superintendent.  The office works with teacher leaders, principals, and directors, who along with their other duties, oversee the curriculum in each area. The curriculum work includes the development and alignment of curriculum, services for federal and state grants, and the instructional budget. The Assistant Superintendent also works directly with teacher curriculum leaders K-12 in the areas of physical education, health, art and music.

The Assistant Superintendent is a member or leader of numerous District and county curriculum committees. The Curriculum Office also provides the Penfield Board of Education with program evaluations, administrative review, professional development evaluations, program I, BOCES, and program II budget, and oversight of the Office of Research, Data, and Testing, the Department of Special Education, the Department of Technology, and the Offices of Humanities and STEM.

The District Data Manager oversees the numerous databases that are used in our K-12 operations. These duties include oversight of our State Education Reports, State Report Card Reports, Federal Reports, and our student data management system.

District Data Applications Specialist:
Mrs. Jami Kogler
The computer application specialist assures our data is formatted to meet the needs of all of our Federal, State and local requirements. The Data Application Specialist monitors the numerous district databases for accuracy and reliability.

District Data Analyst and Computer Programmer: Mrs. Hillary Lincourt
The District Data Analyst provides analysis and diagnostic support to our teachers, administrators and support staff.

Technology Services Department

The Department of Technology Services is led by a Director. The Director works with a team of technicians and support staff to provide technology services to our students and staff. The Department works to integrate data systems, support educated faculty in using the technology at hand, support student and teacher projects and needs, and to develop and support the K-12 educational program.

Special Education Department
The Department of Special Education is overseen by a Director. The Director works with four special education administrators at all instructional levels across the district. The Special Education Director also oversees the office of preschool special education and works with pupil personnel services (social work, psychology, and counseling) to provide for continuous support for students. The Director is responsible for regulation compliance, CSE process, PPS, federal grant usage, transition planning, student direct services, out of and in district special education services, Medicaid, Child Find, Program Evaluation, Section 504, and records retention. The Director also works as a liaison to our Special Education Parent Teacher Association.

The Humanities Office

The office of Humanities is led by a Director. The Director works directly with teacher and administrative leaders in the areas of English, Social Studies, Reading, English as a Second Language, Languages Other than English and Library. The Director is responsible for providing curriculum alignment K-12, overseeing the curriculum budget, facilitating new textbook adoptions, working with departments to develop goals, initiating projects, and implementing and developing common evaluations and assessments.
