Penfield High School, located in a residential suburb of Rochester, NY, offers a comprehensive curriculum for students in grades 9-12. In addition to traditional core subjects, students can choose from a wide variety of Advanced Placement offerings for college credit, as well as numerous electives in arts, music, engineering, business and more. Vocational and alternative education experiences are also made available to students. A highly skilled staff works to create a warm and welcoming environment for all students and actively encourages the involvement of parents in their children's education.

Budget Hearing, 7:30 pm, May 6
The Board of Education is holding the annual hearing on the 2008-09 budget at 7:30 pm Tuesday, May 6 in the Penfield High School Library. This will be followed by a regular business meeting.

Driver's Ed Schedule Changes
Attention High School Parents! Monroe #1 BOCES has changed the dates and times for summer driver's education. The revised schedule is as follows:
July 1st - August 12th
Tuesday, Thursday and alternate Fridays
Driving times:
7:45 - 9:15 am
9:15 - 11:00 am
11:00 - 12:45 pm
2:30 - 4:15 pm
4:15 - 6:00 pm

Board Adopts 2008-09 Budget
The Board of Education adopted the 2008-09 Budget Proposal at its April 22 meeting. The proposal calls for a 0.5% (1/2 of 1 percent) budget increase. This translates into an estimated 1.6% tax rate increase for Penfield residents. If the county sales tax money is restored, Penfield residents would see a 1.4% tax rate decrease. F...
PHS One Act Plays, 7 pm, May 2
Penfield High School students will present their annual One Act Plays at 7 pm Friday, May 2 in the PHS auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Penfield Idol Competition, 7:30 pm, April 25, PHS
Penfield High School students will compete in the annual Penfield Idol Competition. Tickets are $5. Proceeds benefit the Charlie Cote Music Scholarship Fund.
Board of Education Meeting, 7:30 pm, April 22
The Board of Education is holding a regular meeting at 7:30 pm Tuesday, April 22 in the Penfield High School Library. The Board is expected to adopt the 2008-09 budget proposal at the meeting.
